According to data from Edvisor as of March 27, 2024, the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) has seen a 0.88% increase over the same period. However, several stock indexes have outperformed the IHSG during this time frame.
These indexes include the KOMPAS100 Index (1.1%), LQ45 (2.2%), IDX30 (2.3%), SRI Kehati (4.2%), High Dividend 20 (5.3%), Pefindo i-Grade (5.3%), IDXGrowth 30 (5.7%), IDXValue 30 (6.9%), and INFOBANK15 (11.7%).
The positive performance of these indexes has had a ripple effect on several index mutual funds available in the market. Two INFOBANK15-based index mutual funds managed by PT Surya Timur Alam Raya and PT PNM Investment Management have recorded double-digit performances over three months, successfully outperforming their benchmarks.
One advantage of index mutual funds worth noting is that their underlying assets are mostly stocks. However, index mutual funds differ from equity mutual funds because equity mutual funds are designed to outperform their benchmarks, while index mutual funds are structured to match their benchmarks' performance.
