PT Bank Victoria International Tbk (BVIC) Reports Decline in Net Profit Despite Asset Growth




PT Bank Victoria International Tbk (BVIC), a banking issuer, recorded a decrease in net profit throughout 2023. BVIC's net profit for the full year of 2023 amounted to Rp 101.82 billion, down from Rp 226.17 billion in the same period of 2022. This decline was accompanied by a decrease in interest and Sharia income to Rp 578.73 billion as of December 31, 2023, from Rp 733.38 billion as of December 31, 2022.


Despite the decrease in net profit, operational expenses also declined to Rp 658.02 billion at the end of 2023, from Rp 699.52 billion at the end of 2022. Consequently, the company's operational profit significantly decreased to Rp 174.07 billion at the end of 2023, from Rp 414.07 billion at the end of 2022.


On the top-line side, BVIC's total assets actually increased to Rp 29.62 trillion as of December 31, 2023, from Rp 25.93 trillion as of December 31, 2022.


Total liabilities also increased to Rp 25.8 trillion throughout 2023, from Rp 22.23 trillion in the same period of 2022. Meanwhile, the company's total equity also rose to Rp 3.8 trillion as of December 31, 2023, from Rp 3.7 trillion as of December 31, 2022.


Meanwhile, BVIC's loan disbursement in 2023 tended to increase to Rp 18.63 trillion throughout the year, up from Rp 15.29 trillion disbursed throughout 2022.


Meanwhile, Third Party Funds (DPK) also increased to Rp 22.43 trillion throughout 2023, from Rp 19.37 trillion throughout 2022.


BVIC's core capital, which increased organically, reached Rp 3.29 trillion as of December 31, 2023, up from Rp 3.2 trillion as of December 31, 2022.


In line with the bank's strategic direction and policies, the bank consistently maintains the growth of key financial ratios at healthy levels. The Minimum Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) ratio is kept above 19%, precisely at 19.95%.


Meanwhile, the ratio of problem loans, as indicated by the gross and net Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratios as of the end of 2023, reached 3.99% and 3.24%, respectively. These figures decreased from the same period in 2022, reaching 4.23% (gross NPL) and 3.42% (net NPL).
